CHAMPIONS ON THE TRACK :

Kabaddi

Sister Nivedita School u/17 girls’ team returned home winning the CBSE Cluster – VII Kabaddi Competition 2017 – 18, under the captaincy or R Meenakshy from class X Rose. The competition was held at Vivekananda Residential School in Karimnagar from 5th to 7th October 2017. The team represented the school as South Zone Champions at the National level in Panipat in the first week of November.

Chess

Pranitha Priya (Class V J) took part in the Under 11 National Chess Championship held at Hanumakonda, Warangal on the 13, 14th and 15th October and received Certificate of Merit for her performance. Pranitha priya participated in the Telangana Chess Championship for women 2018 at LB stadium in January 2018 and secured 2 out of 5 points. Prior to this, Yagna Priya and Pranitha Priya took part in the 9th Inter School chess Tournament organized by Sadhu Vaswani International School, Kompally and won first and second prize respectively. Earlier in the tournament organized by the Begumpet Chess School the Priya sister’s secured first and second positions scoring 3 out of 5 points. Pranitha Priya also secured 3rd place under 15 open Chess Tournament conducted on 17th December 2017 at B.S. Chess Academy Srinagar colony, Hyd.

Shivansh Mishra (Class II) has secured the first position under seven in Rapid Chess Tournament on 8th October, 2017, at Begumpet Chess School, Hyderabad.

Cricket

The budding cricketers of the school took part in a cricket tournament on the 22nd December 2017and won the match. Faiyazuddin (class IX) and Faizan Ahmad (class VII) were recognized as the Best Batsman and Best Bowler respectively.

The team comprised of Murali Krishna, Ch. Meghansh, Harshal Anand Shah, Abdul Rehman, Faizan Ahmed, Sai kalyan, Satya Krishna, N Parimal, Nabeel Munshi, M karthikeyan, Gopal Krishna, Kamal Prakash, Phanindra, Abhinandan Reddy and Faiyazuddin.

Skating

Madiha Kulsoom Banu won first prize in the Inline skates under sub juniors category at Smt. Jupally Balamma Memorial inter school festival and competition organized by Little Scholar School. She also won 3 silver medals, in Road II – 300 meters, Rink 4- 500 meters and Rink 5- 1000 meters, in the 62nd District Level Tournament. This tournament was held under the aegis of School Games Federation of India on the 9th and 10th of October at Indira Park, Hyderabad. Madiha bagged silver and bronze medals in the SGF state Level competition held on the 21st and 22nd October 2017 at Indira Park again while the events this time were Rink 5 – 1000 meters, Rink 4 – 500 meters, Rink 2 - 1500 meters. In another skating competition in which Madiha Kulsoom Banu won a gold medal was at the Bathukamma Park KPHB on the 29th October.


In the same competition Sai Sharon (Class V J) bagged a bronze medal. He also one 3rd prize in Roller skating competition at KOTLA VIJAYA REDDY STADIUM held on 20th May 2017 conducted by MEGA ACADEMY.


S Gopichand (Class IX) won gold medal in an Inline Roller skating competition conducted by Deccan Hawks at Indira Park, Hyderabad.


G.Vikhyath (Class IV) class has won the third prize in Roller Skating Championship which was conducted at KVBR Stadium on the occasion of Independence Day.


Sai Jayanth Chowdary (Class III) has secured first position in skating (QUADS) under – 10 category organized by “Swachh Survekshan Sports Tournament” held at GHMC, Hyderabad on the 18th of February, 2018.


Srinidh Billa of (Class I) secured first position in Tenacity- Xtreme speed Skating Championship trophy held on 29th January, 2017 organized by Xtreme speed skating Academy, Hyderabad. She also won the first prize in Roller Skating Championship held at KVBR Stadium, Yousufuguda, Hyderabad on the occasion of Independence Day.


Martial Arts

Tarang Mani Sharma of (Class III) has bagged the Silver medal in Katas (Kung fu) in Open State level Kung fu and Karate Championship 2017 organized by International Shaolin Ninia Kungfu Chinese Martial Arts Organization held on 30th July 2017. He is also secured third position in Kung fu National Martial Arts Championship held on 10th October, 2017 organized by Mansuria Kung Fu International Hyderabad.

Vishal (Class V L) participated at the District Taekwando Championship conducted at Vanasthalipuram on the 29th October and bagged the second Prize.

Japan Shotokan Karate-Do Kanninjuku Organisation awarded Certificate of Dan Grade to Afrah Nyla T.P. (Class X), Rajeev Kumar (Class VIII) and Siddharth (Class VII).

R Santosh (Class VIII) and S Sujith (Class VII) took part in the Japan Shotokan Kanninjuku Karate National Open Championship 2017 at Eluru. Santosh bagged the first position winning gold medal while Sujith secured second position with a silver medal in the Championship.

Amogh Ram Vishwanath (Class I) had secured 3rd position in “State All Styles Open Kung Fu and Karate Championship” held at Hyderabad on 30th December 2017.

Kusum Patel (Class IX) paraticipated in 4th National Martial Arts Championship – Bruce Lee Jeet Kun-Do at Reddy Jana Sangam Community Hall, Adilabad and secured second place with a silver medal.

Gymnastics

Janga Advika (UKG LOTUS) bagged a Gold medal and a Bronze medal in Gymnastics at different events held at GHMC sports complex and and at Vijaya Nagar Colony respectively.

G Poojith (Class IX) took part in gymnastics competition conducted by GHMS at Victoria Playground and was awarded a merit certificate and a gold medal.

Tennis

Gagan Ganesh (Class VI) Runner in open Tennis tournament 2018, under 10 categories held at CJR sports center Kukatpally on 18th February, 2018.

K.T. Kasyap Sharma ( Class IV) has secured second position in ‘Target Hitting’, Junior Open Lawn Tennis Championship held in the month of February, 2018 at GHMC, Hyderabad.

K Chandra Siddharth (Class IV) has secured first position in Tennis Target Hitting held at Tennis Academy on 19th November, 2017.

Football

Girish Rama Chandran of (Class III) bagged the first prize in Football Championship held at Gachibowli, organized by “Roofer Champion Football Academy” on 13th November, 2017. He won medals as the best captain and player of the team. He also won first prize in Football Championship organized by Little Liga Football Championship on 12th October, 2017 at Tolichowki.

Drawing and Painting Competition :

Priya Raj Purohith (UKG ROSE) and G.Anirudh (UKG TULIP) have won Gold Medals in the All India Swachh Bharat Art competition on the topic “My Clean India” held on 24thOctober ,2017 and were qualified to the National levels.

Bhavya Raja (Class VII), Aastha Negi (Class VI) and V Kashvee (class V) took part in the State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation conducted by National Thermal Power Corporation under the aegis of Board of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India on 14th November 2017.Bhavya Raja and Aastha Negi won the third Prizes under senior and junior category respectively receiving a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/ each and Rs. 2000/- as the winners at state and school level, In the same competition V Kashvee bagged aconsolation prize with a cash prize of Rs.5000/-. Swathi Negi received a cash prize of Rs.2000/- being the school level winner.

Later in the month of December Aastha Negi took part in the national level competition at New Delhi on the 12th December and bagged a consolation prize with a certificate of appreciation and cash of Rs. 10,000/-

Amrita Lakhanpal (Class VII), Bhavya Raja (Class VII) and Harshini Akode (Class VIII) took part in the Silver Mega Drawing and painting competition organized by Siri Institute of Painting. Amritha and Harshini were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and a memento in the 1st decade celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi on 29th December 2017. The chief guest of the Program was Sri. Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Home Minister, Government of Telangana.

In the month of January, 2018, in the annual celebrations of Siri Institute of Painting at Hyderabad State Library, Bhavya Raja was awarded a gold medal by the Chairman of State Library, Smt K Prasanna for her drawing on environment conservation.

The Hindu Young World conducted painting competition for the school students in the city on the 5th January 2018 at the Telangana State Art Gallery. 200 students from 40 schools took part in the competition expressing their resolution for environment protection through their drawings. Bhavya Raja (Class VII) and B.Vishruth (Class IV) bagged consolation prizes in the competition receiving a certificate of participation and trophy.

HPCL, with Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and GAIL under the aegis of PCRA conducted a spot drawing and painting competition at Ravindra Bharathi as their campaign of spreading awareness on the theme save fuel on the 16th January 2018. Bhavya Raja (Class VII) and B Varshini (Class IX) were applauded for their work through their drawing by second and ninth places respectively. These students received a gift voucher of Rs. 2500/- each from FBB on the same day. In the valedictory Function at Osmania University on 15th February, a calendar was released by PCRA with the 12 best drawings of students. Bhavya Raja’s drawing adorns the calendar page of February 2018 while B Varshini’s appears on the calendar page of July 2018. Apart from these, both the girls received a memento at the function by the Vice Chancellor, Osmania University, Prof S. Ramachandram.

Amrita Lakhanpal, Sai Vindhya and Bhavya Raja took part in the 8th State Level Painting competition on water conservation organized by Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation at Bhaskara Auditorium, Birla Planetarium, Hyderabad, on the 26th February 2018. Amrita Lakhanpal stood at the third position at the state level bagging cash prize of Rs.2000/- while Sai Vindhya and Bhavya Raja received Certificate of Participation. Out of nearly 1300 drawings that were submitted from various schools from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, 50 students were invited to the state level competition, of which Amrita, Vindhya and Bhavya are three. Later on March 26th, Amrita Lakhanpal took part in the National Competition and secured consolation prize with a cheque payment of Rs.5000/- and a Certificate of Participation.

Dhanya Shankar (Class V) and Swarangi Deepak (Class VI) were awarded Swachh Bharath Art Excellence Award and gold medals by National Education and Human Resource Development Organization. This competition was conducted in the school for all the students who were interested. The participants received a certificate and a drawing book as a token of appreciation. The Organization awarded the “National Clean India Activity Principal Award” to the Principal Mrs. Jayanthi Venkataraman for the outstanding performance of her students while the school was honored with the School Excellence Award on the 22nd January 2018.

B Ramya Priya , Laranya Tripathy, Atyasha Mishra, Dhatri (Class IV), D Yagnasri (Class II) Arnav Chauhan, Mayank Singh (Class I), Naina Kushwaha , Sloka Reddy Vudumu (Class III) have secured first grade in All ‘INDIA SWACHH BHARAT’ painting competition organized by the National Education and Human Resource Development Organization on 15th December, 2017 at SISTER NIVEDITA SCHOOL

On the occasion of World Water Day, National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC), ISRO, Dept. of Science, Govt. Of India invited students for drawing competition with the Theme, “Saving Water in Daily Life” in their celebrations at their Balanagar Centre on the 22nd March 2018. Bhavya Raja bagged the third prize in the competition and she received a Certificate of Appreciation and a trophy from the officials of NRSC.

Akshaya Spoorthi (Class VI) bagged second prize in painting completion conducted by ACT KIDZ CARNIVAL in the month of December.

Video Short Contest

On the occasion of World Water Day, National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC), ISRO, Dept. of Science, Govt. Of India invited students for Short Video Contest with the Theme, “Water Conservation: Find the answer in Nature” in their celebrations at their Balanagar Centre on the 22nd March 2018. Aditya Shekhawat, Y Hemasrita, K Harika, and Rishi More won the first prize in the competition. The students received Certificates of Appreciation and trophies from the officials of NRSC.

Elocution and Essay Writing Competition

On the occasion of National Science Day Celebrations, Atomic Minerals Division, Begumpet, invited students (Class VIII) and above to participate in the programme “Science and Technology for Sustainable Future”. Around 20 students took part in the programme with Physics teachers Mrs. Sudha Srinivasan and Mrs. Vedha R, Akrithi Singh (Class VIII), Aditya Shekhawat and Y Hemasrita (Class IX) took part in the elocution competition on the topic, “Nuclear Energy, Green Energy”. Akrithi Singh was praised for her commendable presentation and awarded first prize. Y Hemasrita received consolation prize for her performance.

Bhavya Raja (Class VII) bagged a gold medal; Akrithi Singh (Class VIII) won a silver medal while S Jaanvi of (Class IX) secured a bronze medal in the essay writing competition conducted by Tata Class Edge on the topic “Save Environment”.

Aptitude Test

Rishi Agarwal (Class X) and Sai Viswa Teja (Class VII) received Certificates of Excellence and tabs from The Times of India for their performance in the Times NIE Aptitude test held in the month of November 2017. In the same test, Dhanya Shankar was applauded for her performance with a Certificate of Excellence and a school bag.

Aditya Shekhawat (Class IX) and V.Chandrika (Class VIII) excelled in The Hindu – Vidhyartha Aptitude test and received Certificate of Merit and gift vouchers of Rs.500/- from Flipkart. Aarav Garg (Class VII) stood at All India 18th rank and 3rd rank at the city level in the National Scholarship Test conducted by T.I.M.E. He was applauded for his performance with a Certificate of Merit and a cash prize of Rs.1000/-

Harshal Anand Shah (Class VII) participated in the 14th National SIP Prodigy Competition at Coimbatore and stood as 3rd Runner Up while A Akhil (Class V) received consolation prize in the same competition.
